Privacy Policy
EFFECTIVE 11 AUGUST 20261 · What we collect
When you apply for beta access we receive what you send us by email: your name, work email, organisation, and what you told us about your research. When you use the product, we store the research data you upload - transcripts, survey exports, field notes and related files - and the analysis artefacts derived from it: codes, themes, confidence scores and logs.
2 · What your research data is used for
One thing: producing your analysis. Your data is never used to train a model, ours or anyone else's. Models are prompted against your codebook for your run; they are not fine-tuned on your corpus. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use one customer's data to improve another customer's results.
3 · Where it lives and how it is protected
Files are stored in AWS S3 and structured records in Postgres, encrypted at rest and in transit. Model calls run through Claude on AWS Bedrock, which does not retain your inputs for training. Access inside the team is limited to what operating the service requires.
4 · Deletion
You can delete any single source, any project, or your whole account at any time, and deletion means deletion - the data and its derived artefacts are removed from our systems, not flagged and kept. Backups age out on a fixed schedule.
5 · Participants in your research
Your transcripts contain other people's words. You remain the data controller for them; we process that data on your instructions only. The pipeline includes a de-identification pass, and flagged personal identifiers are surfaced for your review rather than silently kept.
6 · Changes and contact
If this policy changes during the beta we will email every member before the change takes effect, with the diff, in plain language. Write to hello@ossian.app - a founder answers.
Terms of Service
PRIVATE BETA · EFFECTIVE 11 AUGUST 20261 · What you are getting
Access to a pre-release research analysis platform, free for the duration of the beta. It is a working product under active development: features will change, and some things will break. When they do, tell us - that is the deal of the beta.
2 · Your content stays yours
You own everything you upload and everything the analysis produces from it - codes, themes, reports, exports. We take only the licence needed to run the service for you, and it ends when you delete your data or your account.
3 · Your responsibilities
Upload only data you have the right to analyse, with the consents your field requires. Keep your account credentials to yourself. Do not attempt to extract other customers' data or resell access to the service.
4 · The honest limits
Ossian surfaces evidence and flags weak findings, but the analysis remains yours to defend. The service is provided as-is during the beta, without warranties, and our liability to you is capped at what you paid for it - which, during the beta, is nothing. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
5 · Leaving
You can stop using Ossian at any time, export your work, and delete your account - no notice period, no lock-in. We can suspend accounts that break section 3, and we will say why if we do.
6 · When pricing arrives
Before the beta ends we will publish pricing and give every member the choice to continue or leave. Nothing is charged without your explicit agreement.
